Standard Operating Rules
Annual dues paid January thru June will be $30.00. New members joining during July through November will pay just $15, New members joining in December can pay $30 which will cover the next years dues. These dues do NOT include the required Arizona Golf Association (AGA) fees.
USGA Rules of Golf and MGC local rules govern golf competitions. The MGC will play summer rules unless local rules are revised for a specific competition due to playing conditions. Additional local rules may be implemented if conditions warrant i.e. winter rules or lift/clean/place.
Male Residents of SCF who want to play with the Men’s Club to see if they want join our Club, may participate in MGC game day events as a guest up to three times per year. Thereafter, they must join the MGC as a regular dues paying member. Guests are not allowed to play in tournaments except member-guest tournaments. The guests scores will not be used in MGC Games, and are NOT eligible for individual or team prizes, guest will also not participate in the closest to the pin competition and therefore do NOT pay the event game fee.
A Club Member’s guest may play within a MGC game day but his scores will not be used in MGC Games, and are NOT eligible for individual or team prizes, guest will also not participate in the closest to the pin competition and therefore do NOT pay the event game fee. On Game Days where the number of players are limited (typically Monday & Friday), Guests will not be allowed if MGC Members are on the wait list.
MGC members must have a current AGA handicap with at least 5 scores in the last 3 months OR a current handicap trend (index) with at least 5 scores OR a handicap will be provided using the MGC Callaway system.
MGC Tournament and Game Day Prizes will be applied as pro shop credit to the Members Account in accordance with an approved payout table. These tables will designate payouts based upon the number of players or teams in each flight.
Ties for FIRST PLACE prize monies on MGC play days will be decided by scorecard playoff starting on Hole #1. In cases of ties for additional place winners, the prize monies will be divided equally among the tied parties. Tournament committees may alter this method.
Game Day Fees will be $8.00 per player. Closest to the Pin Prizes during individual games will be $10 on Monday and Friday and $15 on Wednesday, payable in cash. Closest to the Pin Prizes during team games will be $20 on Monday and Friday and $30 on Wednesday, payable in cash split equally among the team. KP entry is not optional. To win “closet to the pin” the player’s ball MUST be on the putting green (not on the fringe).
The Hole In One (HIO) program is available to all MGC members in good standing. MGC members may elect to participate in the HIO program by paying a fee. The hole in one MUST be made at CCGC during an MGC event AND witnessed by an MGC member. The witness member does NOT need to be a HIO participant. The HIO fee will be $10 for first time participants with $5 for the current HIO pool and $5 for the HIO reserve pool for the following hole in one. An MGC member who makes a witnessed hole in one during an MGC event will receive an MGC check for the amount in the current pool (not the reserve pool) in the HIO program. After a member makes a witnessed hole in one, another $5 will be collected from all participants to establish a new HIO reserve pool. HIO participants, who have been away, can rejoin the HIO program by paying into either of the two current pools when they return.
